Thus, Kate Sharma is introduced as Miss Sharma, while her younger sister is known as Miss Edwina Sharma.
Do Kate and Anthony sleep together in the book?
Kate and Anthony don't sleep together in the book until their wedding night. The couple has their first intimate encounter in episode seven, well before they exchange vows on "Bridgerton" season two.
Remember, in Julia Quinn's novels, Kate was originally called Kate Sheffield. So the Bridgerton writers sure picked a winning surname when changing the character to better suit the casting of Ashley.

It is only at the Featherington Ball, the final event of the season, that Anthony and Kate finally confess how much they love each other, and realize they want to be together. The show ends with the reveal that Anthony and Kate had gotten married, offscreen, and they even went on a 6-month honeymoon.
In the book, Anthony is set to marry Kate's younger sister Edwina, but Kate doesn't think Anthony is worthy of her sister's hand in marriage. Despite loathing each other from the get go, they eventually fall for each other.
