Viewers rejoiced when the Viscount Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathon Bailey) and Miss Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley) finally admitted their unbridled passions for one another and ultimately married by the end of the season.
The hit Netflix period drama premiered its second season last month and chose to skip Anthony and Kate's wedding and instead showed the couple after their honeymoon. Now, the director of 'Bridgerton' Cheryl Dunye has explained the decision only one (failed) nuptials on-screen which featured Anthony and Edwina.
The novel also features Kate and Anthony's wedding, but in the series a time jump means we skip the wedding, instead seeing them already married.
Kate and Anthony do not have an on-screen wedding
Fans who wanted to see Anthony and Kate end up together got the payoff they hoped for. Yet, the series skipped over the couple's wedding and jumped to the end of the honeymoon. Insider reports that director Cheryl Dunye explained there was no time for two weddings.
In author Julia Quinn's Bridgerton book series, Kate and Anthony welcome four children: Edmund, Miles, Charlotte and Mary. They also have a dog named Newton.

According to the novels, Eloise actually ends up with Sir Phillip Crane, who fans will know is currently married to Marina Thompson, the distant cousin of the Featheringtons who is briefly engaged to Colin Bridgerton.

Francesca, who was off-screen in Bath for all but one episode of season 1, was intended to have a much larger role this time around. That plan unfortunately ended up being dropped because Ruby Stokes, the actress who plays her, was unable to complete filming due to prior commitments to another Netflix series.

As much as we would've liked to see Regé-Jean Page reprise his role as the charming Simon Basset/Duke of Hastings in the third season, it's just not happening. This shouldn't be surprising because he wasn't in the second season, either. However, we had hoped he'd return for the third season in some capacity.
