Working life in China is usually centred on a 40-hour week spread across five days (most often Monday to Friday). General banking hours are Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm. A standard working day is eight hours long.

China has a five-day working week, typically Monday to Friday. According to Chinese labour law, employees must not work more than 40 hours a week (eight hours per day). In reality, you'll find that it's quite common to do overtime, and many local companies rarely compensate for this.
Chinese tech tycoon Jack Ma famously said it was a "blessing" for anyone to be part of the so-called "996 work culture"- where people work 9am to 9pm, six days a week.
Qualified employees are entitled to take statutory annual leaves in China. An employee who has worked continuously for twelve months or more is entitled to paid annual leave. The amount of statutory annual leaves an employee is entitled to is usually determined by their working experience and tenure.
Just like much of the Western world, China uses a five-day workweek that spans from Monday to Friday, with Saturday and Sunday off. The normal business hours are from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., with two-hour break from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. However, there are local variations in different sectors and cities.

Between 2015 to 2019, Iceland conducted the world's largest pilot of a 35 to 36-hour workweek (cut down from the traditional 40 hours) without any calls for a commensurate cut in pay. Some 2,500 people took part in the test phase.

Is Sunday a day of rest in China?
Regular rest days in China typically fall on Saturday and/or Sunday, though this is not a legal requirement.
Under Chinese law, vacation with pay is mandatory. Employees with one to 10 years' employment get five days; 10 to 20 years' employment earns 10 days off; and those which more than 20 years get 15 days.
